In this activity, students will learn about the interaction of warm and cool colors while working with tissue paper in a manner similar to artist and children’s book author, Eric Carle.

Project: Edward Hicks’ Peaceable Kingdom

Students will learn about organic shapes and compare them to geometric shapes. They will create their own Peaceable Kingdom after discussing the various copies of Edward Hicks’ famous paintings.

March: Extra Project
Project: Patterned Frogs
We are making Patterned Frogs using frog templates, markers and wiggly eyes. Students will trace frogs on to construction paper (or other if I can find some heavier stock), trace them with Sharpie Markers and then fill them in with different, line patterns using magic markers. Once completely filled in, students can cut them out and glue wiggly eyes on to the frogs.
