In 2009, OLE formed a partnership with the White Bear Center for the Arts. Professional instructors visit OLE students six times during the school year to explore various art concepts and mediums.
Each grade receives 3 watercolor lessons, 2 drawing lessons and 1 fabric-based world culture lesson every year. The world culture lesson is designed to meet the state curriculum standards in either social studies or language arts. The WBCA provides professional art instructors and all art materials.
This unique partnership has received the U of M Humphrey Institute Innovation Award.
